Specialisations:

General (sports) physiotherapy

General rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal system involves the rehabilitation of joints, muscles and limbs. Post-operative rehabilitation is also possible. Treatments are based on mobilisations, taping, harmonic vibrations, stretching of soft tissues, prevention and much more. Exercise therapy is highly valued in rehabilitation.

Respiratory/chest physiotherapy

Chest physiotherapy can be applied to babies, children and adults. The aim is to clear the airways by using breathing exercises and autogenic drainage with a focus on the drainage of mucus from the lungs. Babies are treated with assisted autogenic drainage which is a non-aggressive way to evacuate mucus in babies and small children.

Perinatal physiotherapy

Perinatal physiotherapy consists of two parts: providing support during and after pregnancy. It focuses on guiding the mother-to-be towards labour, raising awareness of the physical changes during pregnancy and treating any complaints during pregnancy.

Postnatal physiotherapy mainly consists of pelvic reeducation, postural corrections and guidance in returning to sports activities.

One physiotherapy session lasts +/- 30 minutes where the patient’s problems are looked at individually. One session costs 23 euros. When starting a new treatment an extra 6 euros is charged as file cost.

Pelvic re-education

Pelvic re-education is a specific form of rehabilitation which focuses on urogenital and gastroenterological problems such as:

  • Urinary loss
  • Urinary retention
  • Prolapses of the bladder, rectum and uterus
  • Stool loss
  • Flatus (flatulence)
  • Constipation
  • Post surgical rehabilitation (hysterectomy, radical prostatectomy…)
  • Sexual problems such as vaginism, painful penetration…
